Niykee who's had many a hectic few years which included being chosen by Snoop to perform with Snoop at the YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee maintains a consistent songwriting schedule despite all this. Being a magnet for producers, Niykee has a constant eye on the many beats that are sent to her. She finds that most are a source of new songs. Within five seconds, I'm able to tell the quality of a song or not. I then get an idea for an original song, and start writing it immediately. My guitar is on the back porch and I'll let my lyrics flow. Most of the time, it's done in less than thirty minutes. While she develops as a musician, Niykee says that the pain of her experiences in the past is a constant source of unimaginable ideas. She says that even when she's not writing about events that were actually taking place, all of her pain from childhood and losing her younger sister find its way into the music. The memories influence my songs and creates a deeper understanding behind all things that's among the most significant things to me--I need to know that I could listen to any of my songs 20 years from now and still be proud of what I wrote.
